Dr. John A. Papa was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo. He attended Wilfrid Laurier University where he played varsity soccer and obtained an Honors Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. Upon graduation, he worked in the fitness industry as a manager, health consultant, and personal trainer.

Dr. Papa attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and graduated in 2002 with clinical honors while receiving the prestigious Hoskins/Sommacal Clinical Proficiency Award. He is a Fellow of the Chiropractic College of Physical & Occupational Rehabilitation in Canada - FCCPOR(C), and holds a specialty designation as a Chiropractic Rehabilitation Specialist (one of only five specialties recognized by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario). He has also completed post-graduate training in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, and is credentialed as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. In addition, he serves as an Independent Consultant for several Disability Management Companies, and is currently on the editorial board for the Journal Of The Canadian Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Papa's extensive post-graduate education allows him to offer many different treatment options for patients seeking acute and chronic pain relief, and maintenance-preventative care for their musculoskeletal health. This list of treatment options includes Activator Techniques, Medical Acupuncture, Laser Therapy, Active Release Therapy (ART), Graston Soft Tissue Therapy, Rehabilitative Exercise and Physical Therapy, and Computerized Gait and Orthotic Analysis. This multi-faceted approach has resulted in the effective treatment of neck and back pain, along with many non-spinal conditions including shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot injuries/complaints. He has successfully been able to treat a wide range of individuals including seniors, expectant mothers, children and highly skilled athletes.

Dr. Papa is the Clinic Director and Founder of the New Hamburg Wellness Centre. Dr. Lusk enjoys treating a wide range of clientele. If you have muscle or joint pain/stiffness from everyday tasks or postural strain, were in a car accident, had an injury at work, or suffered a sports injury, he would like to work with you. Or, if you are not in pain but looking to move better and start an exercise routine, he can provide you with some guidance to avoid injury as you get started.

Dr. Lusk completed an undergraduate health sciences degree at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 2001. He then pursued further study at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, completing the four year program in 2006.

He takes an evidence-informed approach to injury and pain management. HIs treatment style is largely manual, involving many soft tissue therapies (including myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue release, trigger points), as well as joint manipulation or mobilization. Education, progressive stretches/exercises, electro-therapeutic modalities, and custom orthotics are also used when indicated.

Also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Dr. Lusk has worked with local minor hockey players, as well as university athletes, employing functional exercise to improve athletic performance. He is currently the team chiropractor for the Waterloo Siskins Jr. B Hockey Club. Dr. Lusk has a diverse athletic background and is passionate about active living.

Dr. Joel Dixon graduated from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree in 2007.  In 2012, Dr. Dixon became a licensed chiropractor in Ontario when he graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.

Dr. Dixon prides himself as being a chiropractor that stays current with the latest research, and has taken additional courses to expand his knowledge.  This includes Complete Concussion Management (CCM) which is the pre-emptive course on baseline concussion testing and treatment.  CCM utilizes the lates rearch on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and conservative treatment of concussions.  Dr. Dixon has also completed additional training in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, shockwave therapy, myofascial release, athletic taping methods, and Graston Soft tissue Therapy.  He received his medical sports first responders through Sport Physiotherapy Canada, and is also a certified first aid and CPR instructor with the Canadian Red Cross

Dr. Dixon is passionate about sports, specifically ice hockey.  He is currently the team chiropractor for the Kitchener Dutchmen of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).  Dr. Dixon provided medical coverage and therapy for the Creative Artist Agencies 2016 Elite prospects camp in Toronto.  He was one of a handful of chiropractors selected to be medical practitioners for the 2015 PANAM games.  At the PANAM games, Dr. Dixon specifically worked with some of the best young success and karate athletes in the world.  Dr. Dixon has also provided medical coverage for local Rugby matches and OFSAA field hockey.

Sheila Reinhart was born and raised in the New Hamburg area.  She graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1999 and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).  Since graduation, Sheila has continued with her learning through continuing education courses in Pregnancy and Labor Massage, and Infant Massage.  She utilizes a broad range of massage techniques in her practice including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, hydrotherapy, and myofascial release.  Whenever possible, she also incorporates home care exercises into her treatment plans.
Sheila enjoys working in a setting that promotes health and wellness, and she is dedicated in educating her clients in improving and maintaining their health.

Christina is a graduate of D’Arcy Lane Institute of Massage Therapy in London, Ontario and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). An avid believer in holistic health, she also has a background in nutrition, psychology and fitness. As a Registered Massage Therapist she embraces and enjoys the challenge each individual presents with his/her own personal health goals. The holistic approach she subscribes to is predicated on strong communication skills and a treatment approach based in research, but built on each clients’ unique needs.

Christina uses a wide variety of techniques in her treatments some of which include Swedish massage, trigger point release, myofascial release, and hydrotherapy. Homecare exercises including stretching and strengthening are also an important component of her treatment approach. She enjoys working within a multidisciplinary clinic and the opportunity it provides to offer her clients comprehensive care.

With a combination of therapeutic massage and deep tissue work, Jessica customizes her treatments for a client's specific needs. She has extensive experience treating many conditions and specializes in neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and chronic headaches. Jessica truly enjoys her chosen profession and has a passion for helping others. She strongly believes that massage is an essential modality for overall health and well-being of the human body.

Marcel is a graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Prior to pursuing a career in massage therapy, he worked in the field of health insurance and disability management.  He is excited to be sharing his expertise in massage therapy and the many health benefits it provides to people of all ages.

Marcel utilizes a range of massage modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, fascial release therapy, and proprioceptive techniques.  As an avid runner, he has gained a real appreciation for proper bio-mechanics and how the body is inter-connected.  Often times, dysfunction or muscular imbalances in one area will manifest or radiate to other areas.  In these cases, it is important to treat not only the area of complaint, but also address the root cause of the issue.

She believes that the body has the ability to heal itself, but that massage therapists are important facilitators in this healing process. Victoria is committed to delivering a high level of professional health care, and strives to assist her clients in achieving both rehabilitation and relaxation.

Allison is a graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Prior to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Allison completed an Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Science Degree at the University of Guelph. She believes in approaching each individual from a unique perspective to develop the best possible treatment plan for that client. By incorporating a variety of techniques and homecare options, the client’s goals can be met in a relaxing yet effective manner.

Allison enjoys treating conditions with fascial techniques to mobilize scar tissue, facilitated stretching and proprioceptive techniques to reduce pain and restriction, as well as Swedish massage for injuries and everyday stress. Reducing pain and improving quality of life is the focal priority of every treatment and homecare plan. Allison hopes to continue her training in the future by completing Yoga Teacher Training and eventually an education in Osteopathy in order to expand treatment options for clients.

·         Naturopathic Doctor (ND)

Peter Klassen, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies.  He then pursued a Masters Degree in Theology at the University of Toronto before turning his attention to the health care field.  In 1993 Peter began the four year Doctor of Naturopathy program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.  Upon graduation in 1997 he was fortunate enough to work with one of the foremost experts in the field of biological medicine, a field of complimentary medicine which combines the science of western medicine with the wisdom of traditional medicine.  This valuable experience helped shape his understanding of health and disease and emphasized the importance of treating the "regulatory disharmony" which causes disease.

Peter uses a wide variety of modalities to support the health of his clients including botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, orthomolecular medicine, clinical nutrition, exercise and stress management techniques.  These clinical tools allow Peter to address a wide variety of health concerns in men, women and children.

Sandra completed her Bachelor Degree in Science in 2006 at the University of Waterloo, and began working with individuals of dual diagnoses, mental health and addictions. She continued her professional and educational development when she completed her Bachelor Degree in Social Work at the University of Waterloo, graduating with Honours in 2013. In July 2018, Sandra completed her Master Degree in Social Work. She is a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.

In the domain of Clinical Social Work and Counselling, Sandra has extensive experience working as a clinician in the field of child and adult mental health, focusing her therapeutic practice in areas of depression, anxiety, addictions, domestic violence, child abuse, custody and access disputes, Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) rehabilitation and chronic pain just to name a few. Her work is trauma informed as well as attachment based and she practices from the cognitive model of psychotherapy. In addition, Sandra uses a large variety of techniques stemming from clinical frameworks of Signs of Safety, and Circle of Security, which are client focused as well as strength based approaches. What’s unique about Sandra’s work is that she recognizes everyone’s journey to recovery as a subjective experience, and depending on the circumstance, she utilizes a combination of interventions and modalities that best suit the specific needs of this person. Continuing her passion to grow and expand her knowledge and ability to help clients, Sandra is hoping to become a certified Clinical Traumatologist through the Traumatology Institute of Canada.

In addition to offering clinical counselling and therapy, Sandra also provides general social work supports that may include but are not limited to connecting individuals and their families to the most appropriate resources in the community, making referrals for their family members to different/other service providers, as well as general navigation of the social system (for example Ontario Housing, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability, court services just to name a few). Jessica is a Registered Practical Nurse and is a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO). She graduated from Conestoga College in 2008 and is certified in Basic and Advanced Foot Care.
With her extensive years of nursing experience, Jessica has seen many cases of neglected feet. These cases are often due to problems with accessibility, poor vision, circulation problems or diabetes. Fortunately, most foot problems are avoidable with the proper preventative care and maintenance. Jessica believes that the option to have regular foot care treatments offers the potential for improved mobility, reduced pain, and a higher quality of life.

Foot Care Nurses typically deal with the nails and skin of the foot. As an Advanced Foot Care Nurse, not only is Jessica able to provide these basic services, but she is also qualified to perform additional treatments for specialized needs. Jessica offers treatments to high-risk clients including those individuals with arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and diabetes. Additionally, Jessica specializes in the treatment of thick, hard, and fungal nails, and is equipped to reduce and/or remove heavy calluses and painful corns. She also treats ingrown toenails and provides helpful teaching techniques to promote prevention of this issue.

Each individual who sees Jessica will be given a specific care plan that is tailored to their foot care needs. Her main focus is to provide the highest quality of foot care as the first line of defense against foot issues that can ultimately affect someone’s overall health and wellness.
